Kalina Torino is an artist residing in Portland, Oregon. As an art director by day at
Animation Dynamics, inc., she looks forward to her spare time spent with her paintbrushes and sketchbook.

The majority of her work is a compilation of all the things that inspire, intrigue, amuse and frustrate her. In each work there is an underlying commentary on the environmental condition with an aim to bring awareness to each individual and the personal choices they make.
Three years of Kalina's life were spent at the Art Institute of Portland where she obtained a B.S. in Media Arts & Animation, a love for green things and striped tights, and a joy for putting characters in weird suits and situations.
It is my belief that we all have a certain “suit” that we wear in our day-to-day lives. These suits define how we portray ourselves and the way in which we interact with others and our surroundings. They may keep us protected, perhaps even blissfully ignorant, fulfill the need for empowerment, or hold us back. We may choose these suits to hide in, or to help us adapt. Then there are those of us in the transformation phase; exposed and vulnerable but on the path to finding what they really are or who they aim to be.
The ultimate question to be asked is: what kind of suit do you have on and do you feel that you are in need of a change? I try and ask myself that everyday…
